Named “Turquesa”, meaning “turquoise”, this coffee is inspired by the early Mexican cultures such as the Aztecs or Toltecs. Due to the Zapatista movement, which aimed to preserve indigenous land and rights, many small lots that produced only 10-15 bags per season developed across the region- as opposed to larger lots with bigger yields. With various smallholders sharing the farms, the beans are harvested by hand and carefully inspected for quality. After harvest season, the coffee is transported to Veracruz where it undergoes a second quality control check before final exportation.

In the cup, we find a smooth milk chocolate body with a velvety mouth-feel. Sweet, creamy caramel dominates the profile, but look for hints of dried cherry as the cup cools.
