The Huadquiña cooperative is a great example of changes in the coffee industry. The entire Cusco region used to be dominated by a large cooperative that made it impossible for traders to work effectively. This created an opaque supply chain. Producers and consumers were disconnected, which ultimately resulted in poor quality. That big cooperative disbanded, and now the Cusco region is seeing a rebirth, and the Huadquiña co-op is a part of that.

Huadquiña does their work in the La Convencion valley, which rests at elevations from 1750 to 2200 meters above sea level. The elevation allows for amazing development in the coffees. We love this coffee for it’s buttery smooth mouthfeel and subtle taste. Look for notes of pear and green apple along with cocoa, pecans, and almond.
