After our success with a natural process coffee from Guji earlier this year, we really wanted to explore that region more. This coffee was grown at a higher elevation than our Good Foods Award winner, which means the beans have more time to develop their flavor. Additionally, the cherries were processed at a mill that only handles natural coffees with a mill manager known for producing excellent quality. We were extremely pleased when this coffee finally made it onto our cupping table. The fruit notes jump from the cup, and the aftertaste is smooth and sweet. If you enjoyed our Kayon Mountain Farms natural, we highly recommend you give Guji Highlands a try.

Guji Highland Farm was founded In 2012 and is family owned and operated. The farm is roughly 250 hectares in size and sits between 2000-2300 masl. It’s situated under the canopy of the surrounding natural forest. Organic farming is an important practice at Guji Highland Farm, they benefit from decades of plant debris decomposing on the forest floor. New plantings are added to the farm each year, all of the seed originating from a local heirloom that has been collected nearby (referred to as a “mother tree”). The family also works with local small holders, buying their coffee and offering training at the farm level as well as at their mill.

Packaged in 12 oz bags.
